HISTORY
Estate, Rent & Commission Agents Association of Nigeria (ERCAAN) was founded in
1990 and was duly registered with the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs under the
Land (Perpetual Succession) Act, Cap 98, with No 6223 as an Association on August
8th 1991.
The Association was formed , registered and incorporated in the interest of Nigeria Real
Estate Agents who engage in genuine and honest real estate property business practice
and are prepared to professionalize their real estates agency, by rendering honest and
quick services to their clients within their environment and beyond irrespective of
nationality, tribe and sex.
The association is divided into four (4) organs, namely;
1. The National Body
2. The State
3. the Zone
4. The Units
The National Body is headed by the President while the State and others are headed by
Chairmen. The Lagos State Chapter chaired by Hon. Adeshina Kassim, has the largest membership strength with over 80 zones and units, spread across all the 20 Local
Government Area and 37 Local Council Development Area in Lagos state. Our highly
committed members in the Lagos State Chapter are managing over 300,000 properties
on behalf of their principals.
We are a vibrant stakeholder with the Ministry of Housing and LASRETRAD, the state
government licensed regulatory body. Our reputation is dated back to 2001 with the
state government when we initiated the bill to regulate the industry known as the Lagos
State Real Estate Agency Authority and Other Matters 2007 Law which was signed by
then Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration.
